So far a Senior Project for me...
Hi, my name is Kyung. I am a Senior at Acalanes high school who just started second semester.
I am an English WISE student. I chose to take WISE over English 4 because WISE is something closer to the adulthood than a regular English class.
No one will be there to get on my case for not getting things done. I need to manage my time on my own and make my own decisions how adults should be. It is a class that teaches responsibility and real productivity.
My objective of my senior project is to learn what is like to book, and open an art show. Since I could hold a crayon, my dream was to become an artist. When I grow up, I want to have my own art studio, make art and share them with any one I can around the world. Art has been not only my dream, but my identity and main purpose of life.
By doing this project, I will take a small step towards my dream.
The show is planned for somewhere in May so far, and hopefully at a venue in Lafayette with students who are also passionate about art like me.
So far, I am working with Kailey Conrad, Katie Mitroff, and Tiffany Lum. Kailey and I talked to Ryan Ellery who is known for his talent in music and he is willing to play songs at the show.
The process of planning and day dreaming about the show is fun but I know I must take action soon. The most important thing would be getting a venue. Without a venue, it would be impossible to hold a show.
Mr. Takahashi, my mentor for the project thinks so too. He recommended that I start calling people to get a venue soon. That is on my top to-do-list. I am planning on calling Lafayette Library soon. Kailey and I both agreed that the library is a great place for a show. We would have a good crowd and good space.
I am very glad to have Mr. Takahashi as my mentor for this project. There are several reasons why I asked him to be my mentor and the most important reason is for his professionalism and productivity. I was in his Algebra A class during my Freshman year, and I remember he was one of the most straight forward teacher I have ever had. He did not miss a thing when he was explaining about each assignment. If I did something wrong in that class, it was entirely my fault and there was nothing to blame on him. Also, Mr. Takahashi is not only a math teacher but also the athletic director at my school. Every time I visit his classroom during break or lunch, he is occupied with many students either for math or sports. That is a lot to juggle and I admire him for it.
To move on, I made a blog today for my project which is required to do. I have had total of 8 blogs before so making a blog is not a hard thing for me. I am looking forward to develop this blog as I proceed through my second semester.
Lastly, I will end my posts with some pictures of my art work to show where I am skill wise. I am also hoping to put some of these in the show.
